General Store
The General Store and Gift Shop - open
The perfect place to pick up something to remember us by. The Trade Winds General Store & Craft Shop stocks a large selection of local crafts, jewelry and books by the best Nova Scotian artists and authors. The store also sells camping supplies, picnic items, and foodstuffs for those who like to cook their own meals. Also available are hats, caps and outerwear emblazoned with the Ovens logo. While you are shopping, you can visit our small museum filled with pictures and artifacts from Ovens Park, the birthplace of Nova Scotia's 1861 Gold Rush.
There is also fabulous shopping in the nearby town of Lunenburg, a picture-postcard village of mid-1800's origin. Lunenburg has a rich fishing and ship building history and has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is most celebrated for being the home port for the "Bluenose II".
